The Adolescent dog
Understanding the changes.
Do you find yourself wondering what happened to your attentive, eager to follow, sweet cuddly dog? Why it seems that he no longer understands the simple commands he knew just yesterday? Or, have you noticed that your dog now has a lot more energy and might even be a little testing towards you – overall in some cases a turbulent behaviour?
Then this is the course for you and your loved and testing adolescent dog. Don’t worry, all of the above behaviours are normal and part of the dogs’ development. Some dogs, just like humans, can have a tougher time going through adolescence. Our job as pet carers is to keep our calm, help our dogs through this tough time and remember it is only during a short time of their life, so try to see the humour in some of the crazy things they get themselves into.
During the course you will receive practical exercises which will work with your dogs’ ability to focus, work on impulse control, as well as mentally stimulating exercises.
We will talk about the physiological and psychological development in the adolescent dog and what we can do to help make this part of your dogs’ life as secure and stress free as possible. All while keep having fun together!
